We have recently started to teach a 78 year old lady to Read and Write. HOW LEGIT IS THAT?!?!?! Well for her no.... but she has so much desire to be able to learn to read and write. It is so cute to see her paper of letters that she practiced the night before XD She is so cute. Her name is Irma! XD She never went to school.... but she has a lot of hope to learn. And once she learns I think she will be willing to come to church with us :) (she is scared that someone is going to ask her to read in the church)
Her story when she was little. Her father always dressed her and her little sister like boys. Their hair was always cut short so that she would look like boys completely. The father then took them to work and they all worked for the whole day. Irma would ask and plead with her father to send her to school, so that she could learn, but he never listened to her. Her father and the two little girls worked every day all day.
Irma now has a daughter and a granddaughter. The grand-daughter is now helping us teach her how to read and write. They are so cute and they are so willing to do the homework that we give her. I feel like she would be an amazing member! Not only because her willingness to learn and that she is really humble, but also the fact that she is so loving. Everytime that we come over to visit her. She ALWAYS makes us hot chocolate and gives us bread or crackers. She is a wonderful woman and she will be able to read and write soon! XD
This is my districto XD We cant seem to get a good picture together. :)
